Job DescriptionThis is a 4 year Advanced Apprenticeship coving all aspects of Automation Engineering. SalaryThere is a well defined salary structure with clearly defined increments awarded as milestones are reached throughout the Apprenticeship. Key ResponsibilitiesAs an Apprentice Engineering Technician you will join our System Build Team. This position offers a great deal of variety. Throughout your apprenticeship your on the job training and role responsibilities will include the following: Required Qualifications, Skills and ExperienceYou will have achieved a minimum of 5 GCSE's grade C or above which must include Maths, English and a Science. We are looking for ambitious individuals who are enthusiastic about learning and developing a successful career within Engineering. Our apprentices need to be confident, self-motivated, be a keen team-player and enjoy a challenge. Applicants should be "hands on", practical individuals with an interest in how mechanisms work. Training ProvidedYear 1 - NVQ Level 2 on day release at College, which will include 8 units across a wide skill base in Engineering. On the job training will include an introduction to the Electrical Wiring and Mechanical Assembly of Robot Systems. Years 2/3 - Commencement of a 2 year BTEC National Diploma in Electrical and Electronic Engineering on a day release basis. On the job training will continue to build on the skills acquired during year 1 with an introduction to on-site installation and routine service work. Successful completion of this on the job training will lead to an NVQ Level 3 qualification. Year 4 - Candidates will be given further advanced training to enhance their skillset in areas such as commissioning and robot programming. Candidates who gain distinctions in their BTEC National Diploma will be given the opportunity to study for further qualifications.
