Robotics Support Engineer

Job Description

This is an excellent opportunity for an Engineer with experience in Robot and PLC Programming, looking for a challenging Robotic Engineering Support Role. This position is based near Southampton, Hampshire with visits to customer sites throughout the UK.

Key Responsibilities

As a Robotics Support Engineer you will report to the Customer Support Manager and be involved in all aspects of supporting our customers and their systems. The main areas of responsibility will include:

Fault Finding and Routine Servicing of robotic systems
Providing Technical Guidance and Telephone Support to customers
Robot Programming at customer sites
Robot Programming for trials and demonstrations at our premises
Installation and Commissioning of robotic automation systems
Customer Robot Programming Training
Supporting Project Teams with Build, Robot Programming and Commissioning

This role involves regular travel to customer sites throughout the UK and you should be prepared to stay away overnight on average 1 or 2 nights per week (pool car provided and expenses paid). There is also a requirement for occasional weekend overtime working.

Required Skills and Attributes

Experience in 6-Axis Robot Programming and PLC Programming in an industrial manufacturing environment
Sound knowledge of electrical control systems, along with experience of electrical build and fault finding
Electrical, mechanical, pneumatic and software fault finding and repair experience on industrial automation equipment
You will be self-motivated, flexible and resourceful with a keen desire to progress your career
Welding knowledge would be a distinct advantage
