Job Description

This is a challenging and exciting career opportunity for a junior Control Systems Design Engineer with some previous experience of Designing and Commissioning of Industrial Automation Equipment. This position is based near Southampton, Hampshire with some visits to customer sites throughout the UK.

Salary

£25,000 - £32,000 DOE plus paid overtime and annual profit related bonus

Key Responsibilities

As a junior member of the Electrical Engineering Team you will report to the Electrical Engineering Manager and be involved in  all aspects of the Electrical Controls throughout the project cycle from concept design thru to installation, including detailing of electrical controls and operator interfaces, PLC, HMI and robot programming, commissioning and installation. This position is based at our premises in Southampton but also involves installation and commissioning at customer's sites throughout the UK.

Required Qualifications, Skills and Experience

It is essential that you have a highly relevant degree that provides a solid foundation in the principals of Electrical or Control Systems Engineering.

You should also have a minimum of 1 year's post graduate experience of Machine Control System Design ideally gained within the Automation Industry.

You will have a solid Electrical Engineering background with knowledge of current electrical regulations and working practices. Your experience should include; Safety Circuit Design, CE & EMC practices, PLC Control Systems - Rack Mounted and Distributed I/O Systems, Field bus Systems (Profibus & Device Net), AC & DC Motor Control (Inverters & Servo Drives), Digital & Analogue Sensor Technologies & Connectivity, HMI Connectivity and PLC Software Design. Experience of AutoCAD, welding technologies and/or 6-axis robots would be a distinct advantage.
