Job Description

A challenging and exciting career opportunity for a Mechanical Design Engineer with experience of Industrial Automation Equipment Design and/or Fixturing Design. This position is based near Southampton, Hampshire with occasional visits to customer sites throughout the UK.

Salary

£28,000 - £35,000 plus paid overtime and annual profit related bonus

Key Responsibilities

You will report to the Mechanical Engineering Manager and be responsible for 2D Mechanical Detailing and 3D Modelling of Robotic Automation Systems and Fixturing using AutoCAD/Inventor 2008. You will also be expected to provide technical guidance and support to the System Build Team and sub-contract suppliers.

Required Skills and Experience

It is essential that you have a solid mechanical design and industrial automation engineering background along with experience of detailing automation equipment and/or jigs and fixtures. Experience of 6-axis robots and good practical mechanical fitting skills would be a distinct advantage. You should be proficient in AutoCAD and AutoCAD Inventor or similar 3D software and be an excellent team player with good communication skills. You also need to be customer focused and commercially aware.
